As the foundation for No. 66 wind turbine was grouted on Nov. 26th, the foundation grouting work for all wind turbines has been completed smoothly.
The wind power project includes installation of 66 wind turbine generator systems where each foundation involves consolidation of 42.8t reinforced bars and pouring of concrete at the design amount of 385m3. In light of the hot weather experienced by the project site in JHIMPIR, the PM team came up with a plan for mass concrete work under high temperature, where all foundation grouting work activities are to be done during nighttime, which poses a great challenge to the PM team.
Civil work officially began on March 7th, 2017. Over the 8-month period, the PM team was faced with numerous hurdles including harsh work conditions, understaffing, equipment/tool inadequacy and frequent occurrence of unexpected conditions to name a few. Despite this all team members demonstrated an amazing teamwork spirit by overcoming these difficulties and applying high work standards, strictly complying with work rules and meticulously planning and managing all work activities, all of which has led to the successful completion of all grouting work on schedule. The resulting 100% one-time pass rate of all foundations and zero quality or safety incident have laid a solid basis for the upcoming wind turbine hoisting and electrical installation.
To celebrate this milestone, delicious food was served and a local band was hired for this joyful moment. Everyone laughed and danced at the Party.
In the coming days, all PM team members will continue to work hard and overcome more challenges striving to get the project up and running on an early date.
