UEG Hold a Grand Commissioning Ceremony of Siba-10

The commissioning ceremony of United Energy Iraq Siba-10 Well was held in Siba Gas Field On December 1st，2022. Jawad Kadhim Mohsin, Chairman of the Joint Management Committee of the Siba Project, Song Yu, Executive President of United Energy Group (UEG), Kadhim Matrood Bader, Manager of Siba Gas Field of Basra Oil Company (BOC), Yang Zheng, Deputy General Manager of Daqing Construction Company -Iraq Branch, the construction party of the well pipeline project, attended the ceremony and jointly turned the well valves, witnessing Siba-10 well going into production.

Siba-10 well is the first new well since UEG took over Siba gas field. The well was officially starting to drill on June 30th , 2022 and completed drilling on November 10th, 2022. The welding of the surface pipeline was started on September 27th, 2022. The construction faced with many challenges including technical difficulties such as the thickness of the pipeline wall and the unable to access the well field while drilling which was also compund by the rainy season. However, UEG’s Iraq asset and the construction party ,racing with the bad weather,formed a detailed construction plan and completed the welding of nearly 600 welded junctions which was 2.2km long within 20 days, supplemented by a large number of prefabrication processes. Finally, the connection was completed 15 days after the well delivery, and the gas was successfully put into Siba Central Processing Station for processing on November 30th, 2022, 30 days earlier than the time required by the contract.

Mr. Song Yu delivered a speech at the commissioning ceremony and expressed his gratitude to BOC and the Joint Management Committee for their strong support for the Siba project. BOC also attached great importance to the production of Siba-10 well and sent reporters to conduct on-site interviews and reported on the whole ceremony. Mr. Jawad and Mr. Kadhim also delivered speeches respectively at the ceremony, congratulating the Siba-10 well on its commissioning and thanking the UEG team for their contributions to the Siba project.

The main oil and gas producing layer of Siba-10 well is Yamama reservoir. The smooth production of this well not only improves the production of the gas field, but also lays a solid foundation for Siba to achieve a peak production of 50 mmscfd per day going forward.
