Deputy Oil Minister of Iraq Visits UEG Faihaa Oilfield Central Processing Plant

On May 15, 2024, Dr. Izzat Sabir Ismaeel, Deputy Oil Minister for Gas Affairs, Mr. Basim A Naser, Director General of BOC, Mr. Basim Taher, Director General of PCLD, and Mr. Hamza Abdulbaqi Nasir, Director General of South Gas Company, visited the Central Processing Facility (CPF) of the Faihaa Oilfield (Block-9 Oilfield) of UEG in Iraq.

Accompanied by the management of the Faihaa Oilfield, Dr. Izzat Sabir Ismaeel and his delegation visited the 3D model exhibition area of the CPF, carefully listened to the report on various work progress, safety production management, corporate social responsibility, and other aspects of the Faihaa Oilfield. Dr. Izzat Sabir Ismaeel first warmly congratulated UEG on the successful and early commissioning of the CPF of the Faihaa Oilfield, and fully affirmed the achievements of the Faihaa Oilfield in various work, expressing sincere recognition of the professional ability and efficient execution demonstrated by the UEG team. In addition, Dr. Izzat Sabir Ismaeel specifically mentioned the digital construction of the Faihaa Oilfield, with the impressive automatic control of oilfield production equipment and the comprehensive monitoring of the technological process. During the visit, Dr. Izzat Sabir Ismaeel wished the smooth commissioning of the natural gas package of the CPF at the end of 2024 and looked forward to the effective treatment of the associated gas generated during oil extraction.

Mr. Basim Naser, Director General of BOC, expressed sincere gratitude to UEG for their hard work and outstanding contributions at the Faihaa Oilfield. The successful commissioning of the CPF has raised high expectations for the natural gas package project that will be commissioned at the end of this year. Mr. Basim Naser pointed out that the natural gas package project is an outstanding result of the collaboration between the Ministry of Oil in Iraq, BOC and UEG, and it will play a crucial role in Iraq's economic development, improvement of people's livelihood, and environmental protection in the future. Mr. Basim Taher, Director General of PCLD, and Mr. Hamza Abdulbaqi Nasir, Director General of South Gas Company, also expressed their expectations for the official commissioning of the natural gas package of the CPF of the Faihaa Oilfield and pledged to continue providing more comprehensive and powerful support to UEG in the future.
